Bike Ride Tracker - GPS Bicycle Computer app good for
Excellent app for cyclists or even just people who want to track their bike routes. Has a built in GPS-like screen that you can watch and track your biking! Totally recommend spending the money and getting the full version! App also offers built in Facebook integration!
Mostly I like this app because it doesnt have a lot of bells and whistles. My previous app had bells and whistles galore but I couldnt figure out how to use it and the developers didnt include any instructions or a way to reach them to ask.
Biggest complaint I have with the app is the on/off functionality on the GPS. As others have mentioned it would be nice to have the option to use location services only when the app is in use.
Definitely worth the price for what it is and Ive recommended it to friends.
Every once in a while the app crashes, and you lose the data one the ride you were on. Please fix this. But anyways, its still a great app.
So easy to use. Gives you miles, time, speed and even a map. Inexpensive too!
I have used it for a week on 3 rides. I like it. Suggestion- make the route lines bolder or wider pixel wise . Frequently, it hard to see.
Some bad moments
Sadly this didnt work in my area. App indicates Weak GPS signal, no matter where I was. Oddly I have Yosemite hiking app that works even in the remote areas but this app wont work in a major city? One star
I cant really recommend this app and have replaced it for tracking my own ride.
Pros: It does what it says without a lot of extra nonsense. Beyond the basic tracking function, it doesnt offer a lot of bells and whistles like many similar apps, but it also doesnt charge a subscription for them. In my opinion, this is a net plus, especially for beginners and those for whom cycling isnt their main sport.
Cons: I have three problems with this app.
#1 Why does this app need to track my location when the not in use? None of my other fitness apps need this. Heck, my map apps dont even need this. In practice, it means having to go into my privacy settings to toggle location access when starting and ending a ride. Super annoying.
#2 Voice summary does not work at all. Probably not a big deal for Apple Watch users, but for everyone else it means riding blind or stopping to check your distance.
#3 Its ugly. Ok, I know its a petty criticism, but it looks like a Blackberry app from 2010.
You definitely get your $2 worth for this app, but in the end, privacy concerns and the broken voice summaries are deal-breakers.
This app occasionally works for some short bike rides but is very unreliable in my experience.
It always loses track of me during long rides. Which always leaves me disappointed. I regret buying the premium version.
From four bike rides I have arrived at the destination only once with data from this ap.
On the three other times I found frustratingly a message that read "couldnt pick up GPS" which is weird because my wife has a "cat tracker" app that worked just fine.
Frustrating and just not very good.
Do not waste your money on this app. I keep getting a gps not strong enough message, even though it is clear and sunny outside. I want my $1.99 back, stay away from this awful app.
For some reason this app is never able to get a strong enough GPS signal to work on my iPhone 6. So it is completely useless for me.
